The Ache and the Heartbreak

At one point if you have ever lived you might find yourself suffering from a broken heart.

My heart breaks a lot, sometimes a little sometimes a lot.

I blame it on my accessible emotion. On being generous with my heart.

I would rather offer love in any relationship than not.

Some shelter, some refuse to experience the multi-faceted experience of love and pain.

Loves pain can crack you open to a newer deepened experience of yourself.

Why stand in a shallow when you can immerse yourself fully experience bliss but risk the pain.

All artwork my own - https://www.redbubble.com/people/Lisadee

A heart is immense it has reign and terrain for everything. The many forms of love of friendship, courtship, of things and places, of objects, concepts, and spaces, of music, textures, and tastes.

Love does not ruin us it is what makes us alive.

"Love don't make things nice, it ruins everything, it breaks your heart, it makes things a mess. We're not here to make things perfect. Snowflakes are perfect! The stars are perfect! Not us! Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and break our hearts and love the wrong people and die!"

Motorclassica Melbourne and My love of the Vehicles!

Motorclassica Melbourne
An exercise in pure design.

I love cars, my head spins Linda Blair style when a beautiful vehicle passes me, I have an open and honest appreciation of Motor vehicles.

So many triggers fire within me when I see a great car it excites me on every level! I want to drive it, study it, fawn over the small details, examine the interior down to the glove compartments I want to see in every part of it, the boot, the motor, the wipers, the tyres. Cars are pure design.

I think it stems from my passion of Architecture and form, sculpture and space,Industrial Design be it Bauhaus, Memphis Design, Deco, Minimalism, or Mid Century design my knees buckle every time. My love of colour, fabric and female form led me to become a Fashion Designer. Great vehicles encompass all these aspects of design.

Fiat Multipla Wagon
This is Giuseppe a lovely man his Fiat Multipla Wagon (you can see the front end end in the shot) was incredible and caught my eye instantly it resembles a Fiat 500 but its a wagon! He told me they were used as Taxis in Italy and as the seats collapse were used as a improptu ambulance when needed, The vehicle was immaculate! He was a wealth of information and showed me the full vehicle he is a passionate enthusiast and also has a Vespa at the show.

Another unique vehicle was this 1958 Messerschmitt 3 wheel convertible! All I can say is pwoar and run straight to the Exhibition which is open for another 2 days.

The interior on this Chevrolet Impala must be seen to be believed it features finer construction than some gowns.
There were of course the classic vehicles the Ferrari's the Dino's the Maserati's the cars that were like sex. There was one Maserati that I said I would invest in and give my children a poor education for - it had me! The grill alone was like...heavenly refined chrome glistening Neptune inspired brilliance! I almost needed a lay down over that one.

Put your shoes on now and get to see this incredible collection! Not only was I impressed by the collection of cars the event, the food, the venue and art direction and consistency in design it was the people, perhaps its meeting people with the same interests. Honestly I had the best time they practically had to usher us out of the venue.

This Ferrari had me - Oh my! I even put on the seat belt!

Now I have been fascinated by the humble Torana scince I saw youths hotting them up complete with roll bars, slicks, racing harnesses and shakers but this...this is an incredible concept car a 1970 TORANA concept car it is divine!

Ideally I would love to see a young tanned Raquel Welsh driving this Torana in a low white bikini. Cars are fashion related but that's another blog!

I also met a lovely gentleman Chris owner of the car above he had such depth and true appreciation of vehicles that I truly learned a lot from my conversation with him. I am considering illustrating his 1958 Pininfarina Ferrari as my next illustrative study.

So get yourself ready and run to see this event. The air vents featured on the sides of this quarter panel are called 'gills' - thanks Chris!

This man is the proud owner of the vehicle 60's super model 'Twiggy' owned and helped designed it - if I remember correctly after a long night of being over excited about cars.  I loved the sheer pleasure of meeting each and everyone involved and thank you to Shaun for letting me sit in his magnifiicent Ferrari to all the people that put up with my interminable examination and appreciation of their vehicles. I shall return before the weekend is over.

Congratulations to all I hope to see you all again!
PS I made that dress it gained a lot of attention.

Jealosy and the Truth

I once read that jealousy can be a very insightful tool. It is a sign. I believe this to be true.

It shows you what you want - from the gut.

No filter...its unpleasant...

like the urge to be sick,

no one wants it.

But...

it does happen from time to time so why not take this unpalatable human reflex and examine it until it becomes useful.

We all like to think it doesn't happen to us we are enlightened and aligned enough with our own wants and desires that it wont occur within us. We are enlightened beings - this written by me the woman who just saw someone with a better bob than mine, at the supermarket of all places. We snuck glances back and forth through out the entire fruit and vegetable department. Truth is she won - meh hair just wasn't on the top of my priority list today, besides she was naturally olive I cant compete with that and perfect hair.

What makes you jealous?

There are so many things I can say that I am not envious of, I applaud others successes and endeavors, usually they have earned it.

I am talking the kind of afront to yourself that's like a slap in the face, one you didn't see coming. Showing you what you chose not to pay attention to.

They are the telling emotions we should stop and listen to.
Perhaps they are instincts screaming something at you.

Don't dismiss it, listen to it.

Its as unpleasant as rising bile but my my it surely is valuable.

Next time when it happens listen it just might be your gut connecting to your brain shouting listen to me!

Another thing I do

Along with sewing and a love of the visual I have always drawn and am happy with about any medium although the soft willow charcoal has its certain charm ink pens and Aquarelle (water soluble pencils) are my tried and true favorites.

My themes are usually people and they have gone through one metamorphose after another. I do find however themes of loneliness or solitude reappear I do not see either state negative I find it can feed the soul re energise and refuel me...another constant is humans embracing and happy families.

These are two of my favorite images they are framed beautifully although this is not shown and do illustrate isolation beautifully to me, they are painted on small canvas boards and I used oil paints - my first try. After they were complete I took some lessons in oil painting but preferred my own methods.

This image MY VIEW FROM THE MOON was inspired by friend of mine.

This is more a self portrait

CLARA TAKES ON THE WORLD

I must have been feeling brave that day.
A favorite style and image of mine based on friendship is the following its a hand drawn collage featuring text, painted and refined digitally - but enjoy creating in a hands on way.

MATILDA AND SCARLETT

Then there are the love and hugs as mushy as it gets
TARRED WITH THE SAME BRUSH
AUTUMN IN YOUR ARMS is a part of a series of vintage inspired works that can be seen and purchased as cards and prints here THAT CERTAIN KIND OF CHARM

and here is a new kind of theme coming through another palette.

COME ALONG LITTLE ONE
I still love to draw and its mostly for myself, to relax - completely, I love the smell of paper, the ink, the pencil sharpening the dirty paint water the mess the drips, I even enjoy the cleaning up afterwards, there is little that comes close to that sort of quiet meditation - its a good kind of solitude.

But we all love company.
